The infrastructure in place, the presence of dedicated research centres, the important number of associated firms, availability of manpower and the concentration of world leaders in the field contribute to positioning our region in the forefront of this sector.
Turnover in the Québec aeronautical industry has been in constant progression for the last 25 years. It reached $12.4B in 2009 and has had an annual growth rate of nearly 9% for the last 15 years.
The contribution of aerospace to the Agglomération de Longueuil:
- 1 worker in every 25;
- 13,200 jobs;
- 63% of workers in the sector are local residents;
- Wages bill of $682M;
- $1,650M in value-added activity;
- 24.9% of the manufacturing strength in the Agglomération, was devoted to aerospace products in 2006, compared to the Greater Montréal Region.
